Get Modafinil Online
Get Modafinil Online, Modafinil is used to treat narcolepsy (excessive daytime sleepiness), obstructive sleep apnoea, and shift-work sleep disorder. It is a mood-brightening and memory-enhancing psychostimulant that is solidly proven to enhance wakefulness and vigilance. It is very popular as a study drug (nootropic), as well as for the other off-label uses such as ADHD, SAD (seasonal affective disorder), chronic fatigue syndrome, depression, Parkinson`s disease, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, and is even thought to promote weight loss.
How to use Provigil
Read the Medication Guide provided by your pharmacist before you start using modafinil and each time you get a refill. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
For narcolepsy, take this medication by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually once daily in the morning. Or, if your doctor directs you to, the total daily dose of modafinil may be divided into a morning dose and a noon dose.
For obstructive sleep apnea, take this medication by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually once daily in the morning. Continue your other treatment (such as the CPAP machine, mouth device) unless your doctor tells you to stop.
If you are using modafinil for shift work sleep disorder, take it by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually once a day 1 hour before you start your work shift.
The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Take this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it.
If you suddenly stop using this medication, you may have withdrawal symptoms (such as shaking, sweating, chills, nausea, vomiting, confusion). To help prevent withdrawal, your doctor may lower your dose slowly. Withdrawal is more likely if you have used modafinil for a long time or in high doses. Tell your doctor or pharmacist right away if you have withdrawal.
When this medication is used for a long time, it may not work as well. Talk with your doctor if this medication stops working well.
Warnings
Serious skin rash (e.g., Stevens-Johnson syndrome [SJS]) requiring hospitalization and drug discontinuance reported in adult and pediatric patients receiving modafinil.
Severe rash (e.g., possible SJS, multiorgan hypersensitivity reaction), sometimes associated with fever and other abnormalities (e.g., vomiting, leukopenia), reported in pediatric clinical trials. No serious rashes reported in clinical trials in adults. Serious or life-threatening rash (e.g., SJS, toxic epidermal necrolysis [TEN], drug rash with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms [DRESS]) reported rarely during postmarketing experience. Modafinil is not approved for use in pediatric patients for any indication. (See Pediatric Use under Cautions.)
No known risk factors predict the occurrence or severity of rash. Nearly all cases occurred within 1–5 weeks following initiation of therapy, but cases also reported after prolonged (e.g., 3 months) treatment.
Benign rashes also occur with modafinil; not possible to predict which rashes will become serious. Therefore, discontinue drug at first sign of rash unless clearly not drug related. (See Advice to Patients.) Rash may become potentially life-threatening or permanently disabling or disfiguring despite drug discontinuance.
History
Modafinil was originally developed in France by neurophysiologist professor Michel Jouvet and Lafon Laboratories. Modafinil originated with the 1970s invention of a series of benzhydryl sulfinyl compounds, including adrafinil, which was first offered as an experimental treatment for narcolepsy in France in 1986. Modafinil is the primary metabolite of adrafinil, lacking the polar -OH group on its terminal amide. and has similar activity to the parent drug but is much more widely used.[citation needed] It has been prescribed in France since 1994 under the name Modiodal , and in the US since 1998 as Provigil.
In 1998, modafinil was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration[105] for the treatment of narcolepsy and in 2003 for shift work sleep disorder and obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea[106] even though caffeine and amphetamine were shown to be more wakefulness promoting on the Stanford Sleepiness Test Score than modafinil.
It was approved for use in the UK in December 2002. Modafinil is marketed in the United States by Cephalon, who originally leased the rights from Lafon, but eventually purchased the company in 2001.
Cephalon began to market armodafinil, the (R)-enantiomer of modafinil, in the United States in 2007. After protracted patent litigation and negotiations (see below), generic versions of modafinil became available in the US in 2012.
